Music ministry comes in many shapes and sizes. At this time in our journey as an Area Catholic Community, some of us are trying new things, sitting in different places for Mass or attending at different times. This is a great time to get involved in music ministry at the Cathedral. You do not have to be a registered Cathedral parishioner to be a part of the music ministry here.
We have lots of ways to participate:
Cathedral Choir - rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7 - 8:30 PM and sings at the 10 AM Mass on Sundays from just after the Feast of Saint Cloud until after Pentecost. Open to middle school singers through adults. Music reading proficiency is helpful.
Chant Schola - rehearses just before the Mass where we sing, usually Solemnities and Holy Days that fall on weekdays, some weekends in the summer, and other days as announced. Open to middle school singers through adults. Music reading skills are not required.
6 PM Ensemble - a new group that rehearses at 5 PM and leads music for the 6 PM Mass on Sundays. Open to middle school singers and instrumentalists through adults. Music reading skills are helpful, but not required.
Children's Choir - forming again this fall for preschool - upper elementary, click here to give us your input on how this would work best for your family
Youth Ensemble - click here to give us your input on how this would work best for you and your family
Cantors and Psalmists - lead the music for Mass and proclaim the text of the Psalm during the Liturgy of the Word. Music reading proficiency is required.
Pianists, Organists, and Instrumentalists - provide music at our weekend Masses as well as other special days throughout the year. Music reading skills and proficiency on your instrument are required.
For more information on any of these opportunities, or to find out how you can get involved, contact Abbey Dupuy, Director of Music.
